J. A. Lisk Cartridge Box With Shoulder Belt Sold As A Set

From what we have been able to find in our research on this set the original cartridge box was a .69 caliber Army of Northern Virginia box with a narrow shoulder belt. It was reportedly carried by John Amos Lisk during the war and is now referred to as the J. A. Lisk Cartridge Box. Lisk enlisted in the 44th regiment North Carolina Infantry on March 21, 1862 serving until his capture on October 27, 1864 at Boydton Plank Road, Va. He was then imprisoned at Point Lookout, Maryland where he remained until he was paroled on March 28, 1865.
