The Complete Atlanta Arsenal Set
The Atlanta Arsenal in Atlanta, GA was a major supplier of materiel to the Confederate Army. It produced both ammunition, accoutrements and materials. In 1863-64 the Atlanta Arsenal employed nearly 5,500 men and women. A good western Confederate impression should always contain a set of Atlanta accoutrements.
The Atlanta Set Includes
Cartridge Box utilizes the imported British cartridge box finial. The black square flapped box has two tins, shoulder and waist belt loops. Optional tool pouch. It is theorized that the tool pouch may have been dispensed with in favor of saving leather. The theory being that only sergeants were issued boxes with tool pouches. Remember this is a theory only. (Specify with or without tool pouch)
Cap Box is copied from an original specimen It is marked on the outer flap with the diminutive Atlanta Arsenal stamp. The turned brass finial is shaped distinctively and is specially made for this item.
Atlanta Waist Belt and Rectangular Plate
The belt comes complete with a Rectangular C.S.A. cast brass belt plate. We are always looking for the best quality materials to go into our products. We recently found a far superior brass plate made in the USA for use on our Atlanta Arsenal Belts.. The price change on this item thus reflects the use of this superior brass belt plate.
Shoulder Belt this narrower shoulder belt fits the Atlanta Cartridge Box the best. It is a Confederate shoulder belt, cut slightly narrower than the U.S. version.
Bayonet Scabbard while you may combine any of our Confederate Scabbards with the Atlanta Arsenal set. However, it is rumored that Atlanta produced a scabbard not unlike that made in Richmond that had a lead ball in the tip. Remember, hearsay isn't documentation. The Richmond Scabbard in this set has a lead ball in the tip and comes with this set. If you prefer another scabbard please specify which one you want with your set.
